Portfolios

You can create and track performance across as many portfolios as you like.

Yes, you can. When you click ‘add wines to this portfolio’, you can input the original cost, and purchase date.

If you have already created a portfolio, click ‘view portfolio’, and then ‘add wines to this portfolio’. You can search for a wine, and then select case size and quantity.

The red line is your net contribution to the portfolio, so how much you have paid in total. The blue represents the market value of the portfolio. The green line represents your net contribution if the market price of the wines had been paid.

Wine search

Critic score Is based on the average critic score for this wine.

This score is based on the average price achieved for that particular wine.

At JF Tobias, we use different parameters to grade how suitable a wine is for investment. AAA is the best rating, representing the best investment grade, to B, which represents a more speculative investment.

Storage

Yes, we offer private client storage through our warehouse, London City Bond Vinotheque.

We accept all formats for storage; whether full cases of bottles or magnums.

We can offer you comprehensive insurance whilst your wines are stored with us.

At JF Tobias, we wish to keep things simple. That is why we charge £1 per bottle (750ml), per year.

Selling

Yes, you can. At JF Tobias, we offer several routes to market to give you the greatest flexibility possible. Whether an outright cash purchase, brokerage, or through one of our auctions, we can help you to sell your wine.

You can view your the value of your portfolio in total, alongside the value of individual wines, within your portfolio. We use pricing from a range of sources to ensure that your wines are valued according to live market prices.
